A decent afternoon at Marsh Lane.

I nearly didn't go because yet again it was overcast but luckily on Friday lunchtime I decided to pop over to Marsh Lane.Lucky because there were some decent birds on show even if they were a bit far off for some decent shots.

From the car park hide there was a superb looking Bar-tailed Godwit on show.I would have liked to get some better shots but it would not move from the far left island mind you I'm not moaning it was great to see.

When it was obvious that it was not going to come any closer I and another birder decided to have a quick look in the Oak hide. You can imagine our surprise when we spotted another Godwit on one of the islands. It was very clear that it was not the same bird but it took us an age to decide it was another Bar-tailed Godwit.

Other birds showing included a Dunlin, a Common Sandpiper,Ringed and Little Ringed Plovers and at least 4 Yellow Wagtails.

A Curlew turned up on the left hand island from the car park hide.

A nice afternoon.Pity the sun didn't shine.

Always a good bird (Barwit) to find on inland waters. Great find.
