WATER RAIL FEST AT MARSH LANE.

Went to Marsh Lane this morning getting there at 8.30 AM to find it very gloomy and pretty cold.

Went straight down to the Oak hide where if anything it was even gloomier.Did manage a shot or two of a Wren that came close to the hide which are pretty decent considering the ISO had to be very high to get a shot at all.

Brian Harris then joined me in the hide which seemed to encourage some Water Rails to come out of the reeds. There are definitely 2 and possibly as many as 4 in the marsh and they put on a great show sometimes coming close to the hide. That was the good news the bad was that the light was horrendous. It was very gloomy generally but the water was very bright so it was a hell of a job getting a shot without loads of noise. This was a shame as I don't remember getting a Water Rail so close.
