OFF TO THE LOCAL PATCH.

Having had my annual need to get some decent Spotted Flycatcher shots sated with last week's visits to the churchyard in Abbey Fields I went pretty early this morning to Marsh Lane for my first visit for quite a while.

As expected at this time of year it was hard work finding some decent birds to point the camera at.Yesterday's Greenshank had long gone.

Whitethroat showed briefly from the RW hide.

There were 4 Little Egrets on the RW pool spit. Couldn't get them all in the same shot.

A couple of Reed Warblers showed (partly showed really) briefly in front of the N Causeway hide.

Lots of Terns were flying around the CP pool presumably practicing for the long journey they will take soon to S Africa.
