I decided today I must do some gardening so birding was put on the back burner but when lunchtime I received a text telling me there were a couple of Whimbrels at Marsh Lane I grabbed the excuse to leave the gardening.
One Whimbrel was on the left island from the car park hide in poor light and the other one was to the right of the hide in good light but miles away.No decent pics but nice to see.Did get a couple of flight shots just as they flew off north.
After the Whimbrels had left instead of having a walk round I went home.This was a big mistake because there was a Wood Sandpiper on the railway pool.When I returned later on it had gone.Damn !!!
