MAX GOES ON A TWITCH.

At 8.05 AM this morning whilst in the middle of cleaning the kitchen my phone went and it was Keith Yates " Got a Woodchat Shrike showing well at Brandon".

Bloody Hell !!!! Never seen one so it would be a lifer for me.I immediately went into panic mode and raced round grabbing my kit and roared off in the car.My route from Knowle seemed to go past every school in the West Midlands and Warwickshire and just as all the kids were being dropped off.

I eventually got there just before 9.00 AM and headed down the hedge line where I joined 10 other birders. Was it still there ????  Yesssss !!!! After a short wait it dropped down from a Hawthorn tree onto some brambles. What a cracking bird.An absolute stunner.

For once it was nice just to see and getting shots wasn't so important which was a good job because I struggled to get even some poor shots.I've never taken so many crap shots of a single bird before. It was a long way off but I should have done better.

Hello Max, I think I was standing next you at one point? A great bird and well done on the shots.

Cheers but I would have loved to have done better.I think the heat haze caused me a problem.
