BRANDON MARSH.

On Saturday morning I decided to not to go to Draycote Water to try for the Great Northern Diver but instead decided to head over to Brandon Marsh and save petrol money and a car park fee. What a meanie !!

Thought I'd made a good move to start with because it was very pleasant at Brandon being bright and not cold at all and I soon found a Black-tailed Godwit on the Teal pool.It was not a very co-operative bird it stayed well away from the hide and it soon flew off.

Things went downhill after that.Very few of the usual Saturday crowd were there again so it was a bit of a lonely visit. Were they all at Draycote ?

It was very quiet from all the other hides and screens so very few shots. My only efforts with the camera were of a Yellow-legged Gull  and a female Goldeneye.

There were hundreds of Fieldfare and Redwings about but the miserable so and so's wouldn't let me get close enough for any shots.Gave up after lunch and headed home.Should have gone to Draycote ???
