A JACK SNIPE AT LAST.

Went down to Marsh Lane my local patch this morning getting there at just after 9.15 AM.It was fairly bright but cold and a bit breezy.

Could not see much around a Little Egret and a pair of Goosanders were too far off for shots and a Sparrowhawk was too quick for me.However there were 8 Oystercatchers around and I got my first shots this year.

By 11.00 AM I was feeling the cold and was thinking of setting off home when a call from Jeff Rankin told me he had found a Jack Snipe in the marsh.Having missed out this winter with these with the camera I walked back to the oak hide.It was showing quite well but was asleep but did manage a few shots as it headed back into the reeds.
